Well-rounded

Everyone likes to be well-rounded. Well, except for maybe around the waist, but that's a different story, isn't it?

I'm talking about being well-rounded in a good sense, meaning that one has a breadth of perspective in all one does. As a manager, 360 degree feedback is designed to help you be well-rounded in how you evaluate your staff. What happens in 360 degree feedback is that an employee does a self-evaluation, and 6 others answer the same question s/he answers, but from their own perspectives. That means that the feedback received is not one-dimensional, but gives both the evaluator and the evaluated a fuller picture of how the employee's work is viewed by others who are in regular contact with the employee.

Check it out before you do your next staff evaluation. You'll be glad you did.
